About
Our Story
On July 4, 1913, the San Diego area’s very first amusement park opened in the seaside community of Ocean Beach. Known as Wonderland Park, it stretched across 9½ acres of sandy beachfront south of Abbott Street. Decades before Mission Beach’s Belmont Park, Wonderland was the height of summer entertainment—complete with waterslides, a roller skating rink, carnival games, a bowling alley, a zoo with 350 monkeys, and the West Coast’s largest roller coaster.
Though the park closed in 1915, its spirit of fun and community has remained a cornerstone of Ocean Beach culture.
Building on that legacy, Wonderland Ocean Pub was created to celebrate everything this laid-back neighborhood represents. With unparalleled ocean views, a coastal-inspired menu, and a rotating selection of local craft beers, we’re more than just a pub, we’re a place where neighbors and visitors alike come together. Step inside and you’ll always be treated like part of the family.
